Bio

  • February 1963: Born in Provo, Utah, to Albert Maurice and Sherrie Jean Daw. Raised on a potato farm in Southeast Idaho.
  • 1981: Graduated from high school.
  • 1982-1983: Served an LDS mission to Southern Florida.
  • 1987: Graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • March 14, 1989: Married the former Laura Olsen of Kaysville, Utah.
  • 1991: Graduated from San Jose State University with a Master of Science in Computer Engineering.
  • December 13, 1991: Our first of five children, Sara, is born.
  • 1992: Moved to Orem, Utah.
  • 1994-1996: Orem 45 Precinct Chair
  • 1996-1998: Legislative District 60 Education Chair
  • 1997: Began working for AlphaSmart: A company that provides low-cost education technology products for grades one through six.
  • 1998-2000: Orem 45 Precinct Chair
  • 2000-Present: Legislative District 60 Chair
  • 2002: Awarded a U.S. Patent for innovations to AlphaSmart's education technology products.
  • 2003: Utah County Platform Committee Chair
